Maternity Cover Role – Part Time Digital Marketer


Love Campers LTD is a boutique handmade campervan company based in Newhaven, East Sussex.

We are looking for a part-time digital marketer to provide maternity cover for at least nine months, starting in April 2024.  The work would be carried out under a fixed term contract with the potential for extension.  

The role is 20 hours per week with somewhat flexible working: it must be carried out over no less than four or five weekdays, and between the hours of 9am and 4pm unless otherwise agreed. 

The pay offer is between £27,000 pro rata and £33,000 pro rata dependent on experience, and includes paid holiday and payments towards a pension. We are open to agreeing an equivalent freelance contract with a successful candidate should they have sufficient experience. 

The successful candidate may work from home at times, however will also need to attend our workshop in Newhaven, East Sussex on a regular basis, at least once a week and as necessary on an ad-hoc basis.  

Skills, Qualities and Experience

We are looking for an experienced digital marketeer with at least three years experience as well as the following qualities and skills:

  • Well organised and able to work in a strategic and evidence-based way;
  • Excellent written English;  
  • Creative, genuinely enthused by our company and with a passion for nature, campervanning and the outdoors;  
  • An understanding of and talent for communicating;
  • A strategic thinker and operator;
  • Data driven;
  • A  self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment; 
  • Collaborative and able to work with a range of people of different backgrounds and personalities;
  • Experience working closely with a sales team and / or being involved in sales;
  • Highly responsible and honest.  

Activities in this role

Core activities that we would expect you to demonstrate solid experience of for this role include: 

  • Working with colleagues to develop and implement campaigns across multiple digital platforms and media;
  • Social media advertising – strategy, content creation and implementation;
  • PPC – strategy, content creation and implementation. 
  • Monthly email marketing – liaising with colleagues, creating content and writing our monthly newsletter;
  • Creation, drafting and publishing and management of high quality web content about our brand, products and services;
  • Development and implementation of digital marketing partnerships on an ad hoc basis;
  • Working with freelance content creators on an ad hoc basis – developing briefs, attending shoots and other support activities; 
  • Ad-hoc PR work including drafting press releases, dealing with journalists and other engagement as necessary;  
  • Generating monthly analytics reports, and being pro-active about finding new ways to generate useful data, and incorporate data into decision making and strategy development;
  • Crisis management.
